Joel C. Garrett
Aug 30, 2011      ל' אב תשע"א

Joel Clifford Garrett loved life. From growing up in New York City, attending the prestigious Stuyvesant High School and City College of New York. As a student, he worked in radio, rubbing shoulders with the biggest stars in New York City.

With his passion for helping others, he joined VISTA, the domestic peace corps, in the 1960’s. Through his travels, he met his future bride. Crossing paths with Barbara in Detroit. They would marry, have 3 kids, 3 grandkids and stay together for 43 years - only death parting them.

Tori, Rami, Darren, Quincy, Macy and Jeremy were the loves of his life. As was the computer. He was on the cutting edge, learning the technology from day one and spending much of his professional life as a systems analyst.

He loved to travel, loved to laugh, loved sports both watching (and coaching his daughters), loved his adopted home town of Detroit and was so proud of his Judaism. Most of all, he loved his family. He is dearly missed.
