Jerry was the son of Pauline and Dr. Samuel Rosenfeld and brother to Robert Rosenfeld and Joyce Rosenfeld Schiff. He was born November 7, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio at Grant Hospital.
Following his graduation from Bexley High School, he went into the service and served for 2 1/2 years in the U.S. Army in Mannheim, Germany. After his tour of duty, he was admitted to the University of
Cincinnati and graduated with a degree in Business Administration.
Jerry then went to work in the family auto parts business in Detroit. After a few years, he left that business and worked for national auto parts companies. In 1986, Jerry began to work in regional commercial real estate. At the time of his death, he owned a real estate consulting business, JR Group L.L.C. that specialized in consulting services provided to governmental entities. He was also a real estate broker working with Recovery Park, a nonprofit corporation seeking to bring urban agriculture to the city of Detroit.
In his spare time, he loved to play golf, bicycle, and play poker. He was also very interested in photography and took beautiful scenic photos out west in some of the national parks.
Jerry married Carol Rosenfeld June 14, 1970 and they had two children. Allison Rose was born September 10, 1975 and Adam was born August 28, 1979. Alli married Evan Kramer October 8, 2005 and they have two children. Ariella Sage was born May 23, 2008 and Zimry Sampson was born April 15, 2011. He loved every moment he was able to spend with his grandchildren before his early death January 18, 2014 at the age of 69.
Jerry divorced in 2006 and later married Judith Greenstone Miller at Temple Beth El on December 18, 2011.
