Stuart Jay Bass

Stuart J. Bass was born on February 22nd 1946. His loving parents of blessed memory Frieda and Abraham Bass and brother Stephan resided in Borough Park, Brooklyn for Stuart's early childhood. The family then moved to Belle Harbor, Queens, New York. Stuart attended primary school in Brooklyn and graduated high school in Queens. He received his College Degree from Wilkes College in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and then attended the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in Harlem, New York and received his Podiatric Medical Degree from that institution.

Stuart and his wife, Caren Putterman Bass, moved to Michigan from their first home in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn in 1972 where Stuart completed his Podiatric Residency Program at Kern Hospital in Detroit. He then went into private practice in Grosse Pointe, Hazel Park and Farmington Hills. While still in Practice he served as President of the Michigan Podiatric Medical Association. After retiring from private practice he served as Director of Podiatric Medicine at Kern Hospital. And until his passing he served as Director of Podiatric Medicine at McClaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac. In addition, Stuart satisfied his passion to help by proudly serving as an Oakland Country Sheriff for more than 30 years.

Stuart and Caren were married for 49 years - their children Robyn Joy Hunt and Julie Lyn Sidder,, son-in-laws Travis Hunt and David Sidder, Grandchildren Ella Sidder, Ava Sidder, Braden Hunt and Gavin Hunt were the loves of his life! As a family, they spent time traveling together and celebrating holidays together as well. Stuart lived every moment of his life to the absolute fullest and touched the lives of every member of his family, each of his friends and all of his colleagues.
